I think he makes a good point.  I don't think he thinks gender stereotypes are worse for men, but by encouraging as yet unconverted apes to think about the stereotypes that limit the advancement of men, they can perhaps move from that to consider those faced by women and realise how much worse they are.  Reading it I was reminded of my experiences at primary and secondary school; not being accepted by my peers because I didn't fit the male stereotype.  Anyone who has experienced such torment can perhaps relate to the plight of women better when that has been brought back to their minds.
